As we’re talking about with Lisa right now on the podcast, mom life can make it tricky to be actively engaged with the Bible.

I love newborn sincerity. No cynicism here– just trust.

(I told y’all how much I love the Sheologians podcast. Well, my husband bought me the SHIRT for Christmas. YUP YUP YUP.)

I have two videos for you on today’s topic.

#1- Here is one practical way I stay active with Bible reading as a busy mom:

#2- And here is one question that can help you focus and retain what you’re reading, even with SMALL amounts of Bible reading time:

IN THE COMMENTS, SHARE: How– PRACTICALLY– do you stay engaged with Bible reading, in the middle of life as a busy mom?

I read the Bible out-loud with my kids a lot last winter- good for me and for them. I kind of forgot about doing that, I should take it up again! And I love how your little guy was combing your hair. That is my daughter, anytime I sit down she runs to get a comb 🙂
And I love how real you are in your videos. Thanks for sharing your life and wisdom.

Glad it reminded you of something that worked for you. Like that, I find it quite easy to fall out of good habits, simply because I forget.

🙂 I’m glad you like the realness of the videos. I don’t have time to be otherwise.

I like to keep a charged Kindle beside my chair for when I am feeding a baby. I can pick it up and read it one handed which is so much easier than trying to use a print Bible. Congrats on your new baby!

      Good idea.

I find it hard to be disciplined to do Bible reading on devices, as I get lured toward other tabs/books. (That could be a self-discipline issue on my part.) Are you not tempted to read other books than the Bible?

I have a rule for myself that until my Bible reading is done for the day, I don’t indulge in other reading.

Sometimes, this takes several baby feedings for me to get through all of it because, like you, I have lots of cute little distractions running around 😉

Good rule! Thanks for the reply.

I try to do similarly but anytime I pick up a device I find I am too easily distracted. For me, the physical Bible… or an audioBible… are the ways I find that I will engage without unintentional distraction.
